More time for what you enjoy

A golden retirement at Bernborough Ascot.

For Janis and Peter, a tight knit community, connection and building strong friendships has created the foundations for a golden retirement at Bernborough Ascot.

More than just neighbours, building bonds with fellow community members has helped long-term Brisbane residents Janis and Peter feel they had come home when moving to Bernborough Ascot.

Community built on connection

Having been integral to the community fabric of Brisbane's northern suburbs for decades, the couple aimed to remain in the region that provided their family with immense happiness and security.

With three sons; Adrian, Matthew and Dean, Janis and Peter previously resided in Banyo, Deagon and Boondall, before eventually settling in Clayfield.

“We’ve always loved the area, and to be honest, we did think about moving further away but everything we need is here, so we thought why don’t we stay close to what’s important,” Peter said.

The couple’s decision to consider Bernborough Ascot came about as they were thinking about what they wanted their lifestyle to look like.

Both Janis and Peter knew that they were spending a lot of time tending to their family home and that it had become too big for them both.

“We knew that moving into Bernborough would allow us to do more of what we enjoy, and also to meet people that have similar interests to us.” Janis said.

“We knew that moving into Bernborough would allow us to do more of what we enjoy."

“We have loved it. We have met and made some wonderful friends with the residents here and we’re still close to all the things we adore about living in this part of Brisbane.”

Family just a stone’s throw away

Even after over two years at Bernborough Ascot, Peter and Janis still relish the convenience of the location, being close to family and more importantly that happiness derived from living in a warm and friendly community.

“It’s a short drive to Banyo when we want to visit Adrian and Angela with their kids; Madeleine, William and Henry, or we can head out to Toowoomba to see Matthew and Julia and our other grandchildren Xavier and Ethan… and if we want to go and visit Dean who lives in London, well we’re not too far away from the airport.” Peter said

Bernborough Ascot isn't just a residence; it's a celebration of convenience, community and a life more connected.
