Sunrise Beach Village - Project update

Keyton is proud to be delivering Sunrise Beach Village, the retirement village that will form part of BlueCare's new integrated independent living retirement and residential aged care precinct. We're constructing and will operate the village on BlueCare's behalf.

Alongside construction, we've undertaken an extensive rehabilitation program at a nearby nature refuge. We're also proud to be partnering on a range of community initiatives to help foster sustainability, connection and wellbeing for both the local area and our future residents.

Construction update

construction in progress

It’s been a hive of activity on site as we continue works on stage one of Sunrise Beach Village.

In October we reached an exciting milestone, with our sales and display suite now open by appointment!

Our stage one villas are really taking shape and almost all roofing works are now complete. Fitout works are underway, including cladding, window installation and painting.

The Community Clubhouse will also soon be coming out of the ground, with the basement and ground floor slab pours next up.

Stage one of the village includes the Clubhouse, 15 co-located apartments and 29 villas.

We currently expect stage one construction to complete in late-2025.

Rehabilitation journey

Alongside BlueCare we’ve undertaken a $2m rehabilitation program to mitigate the effects of tree removal as part of the development. Rehab has a specific focus on she-oaks, the preferred feed trees of glossy black cockatoos.

We’ve converted three hectares of degraded land at nearby Girraween Nature Refuge into what will be protected, high-quality bushland. We’ve planted one thousand she-oaks and hundreds of other natives that will be proactively cared for into the future.

Our experienced restoration ecologist and rehabilitation contractor inspect the site regularly. Their March inspection showed strong progress with minimal evidence of weeds and impressive seedling germination from final planting in November 2023. Those plants put in the ground a year earlier continue to impress with the extent of their growth and the species diversity.
